1. About this policy

This privacy policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit rogerhohl.com or get in touch, for what purpose, who receives it and what rights you have.

It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.

An email to this address is all it takes for any question about data protection or to exercise your rights.

3. Key points at a glance

  • No cookies, no analytics or tracking services, no advertising, no social media plugins.
  • Fonts, images and all other content are served from our own web server, not from third parties such as Google.
  • Personal data is only processed in server log files and when you get in touch yourself.
  • Your data is never sold or used for advertising.

4. Hosting and server log files

The website and the related email accounts are hosted by Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd., Cyprus, and Hostinger, UAB, Švitrigailos g. 34, 03230 Vilnius, Lithuania). Hostinger processes data solely as a processor under a data processing agreement.

Each time the website is accessed, technically necessary data is recorded automatically in server log files: IP address, date and time, page or file requested, amount of data transferred, status code, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page (referrer). The website cannot be delivered without this data.

Log data is used solely to deliver the website, analyse errors and fend off attacks. It is not combined with other data, not analysed to identify individual visitors and is deleted automatically once the hosting provider’s short retention period has expired. The legal basis under the GDPR is the legitimate interest in operating the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Encryption

The connection to the website is encrypted with TLS (shown by “https://” and the padlock icon in your browser). Data you send via the contact form is therefore transmitted to the server in encrypted form.

6. Contact form and email

If you use the contact form or send an email, the following data is processed: name, email address, your message and the selected subject and, optionally, company or media outlet and phone number. Mandatory fields are marked.

The data is used solely to respond to your enquiry, clarify any follow-up questions and prepare a possible collaboration. Form data is sent by email to info@rogerhohl.com and is not stored in a database on the website. The legal basis under the GDPR is the performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or the legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

A hidden field in the form protects against automated spam submissions. No additional data is collected for this and no third-party services are used.

Enquiries are deleted once they have been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. If a business relationship results, the retention periods required for it apply.

7. Links to other websites

The website contains plain links, for example to the LinkedIn profile. No data is transferred to the respective provider unless you click a link. Once you do, the provider’s own privacy policy applies.

8. Recipients and transfers abroad

Personal data is only disclosed to Hostinger as the technical service provider for hosting and email, and to authorities where there is a legal obligation to do so.

Hostinger processes data in the European Union. The Swiss Federal Council recognises EU member states as providing an adequate level of data protection. Where Hostinger uses subprocessors outside the EU in individual cases, this is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, which are recognised by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

9. Your rights

Within the scope of applicable law, you have the right to:

  • access the data processed about you
  • have inaccurate data rectified
  • have your data erased
  • restrict processing
  • receive your data or have it transferred in a common format
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests

An email to info@rogerhohl.com is sufficient. Proof of identity may be requested.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch), in the EU the data protection authority of your country of residence.

10. No automated decisions

No automated individual decision-making or profiling takes place.

11. Changes

This privacy policy will be updated if the website, the services used or the legal situation change. The version published on this page applies.
